Enjoy the 18 miles of coastline by heading to the beach, eating seafood, or exploring a few of the hidden state parks along route 1A. Hampton beach is by far the most popular with the most parking. Beaches north boast smaller crowds but make sure to get there early to claim your spot.
Head to downtown Exeter for a walk along the Lamprey river or through the Phillips Exeter Campus. Shop local favorites, or grab a bite to eat. Our favorites include Laney + Lu, Water Street Books, and the Vivo e Vino patio.
Nestled along the coast in North Hampton are the Fuller Gardens, a public botanical garden that was once part of a summer estate. Tickets cost $9 for adults and are available for purchase onsite.
Step back in time in Portsmouth at Strawberry Bank or by visting the USS Albacore. Prescott park is a great place to stop and watch the boats go by. There are plenty of spots to shop and eat in Portsmouth and plenty more to explore by taking the short walk across the bridge all the way to Maine.
Our favorites include Throwback Brewery, Memories Ice Cream, the Kitchen, the Juice Stand, Blue Harbor Coffee, Joe's Meat Market, Santiago's and more.
There are plenty of other things to do in the greater seacoast area. Head out to Pawtuckaway state park or stop by the sunflower festival in Lee.
